The International Plasma Fractionation Association (IPFA) and the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI) are proud to announce the 24th International Workshop on “Surveillance and Screening of Blood-borne Pathogens” to be held in Zagreb, Croatia. This annual, well recognised event in 2017 will be hosted by the Croatian Institute of Transfusion Medicine (CITM).

Key issues | Blood-borne pathogens: Keeping the Blood Supply Safe

The 24th IPFA/PEI International Workshop on Blood-borne Pathogens will address the detection, epidemiology, costs and regulation of new and old agents, that threaten the safety of blood components and plasma derivatives. The scientific programme will maintain valuable and important elements of the previous Workshops, including open and inclusive discussion between all stakeholders and will also include contributions from researchers and colleagues beyond the immediate field of transfusion. Each session of the programme will provide in-depth, up to date coverage by recognised experts including issues such as ethics and costs of blood safety. The Programme is being developed by our Scientific Programme Committee and will be published on the IPFA website later this year, as soon as it becomes available.

The Workshop is a highly regarded international event, attracting delegates from more than 30 countries with contributions from recognised experts and opinion formers.
